The Henley Rose Playwright Competition for Women was founded by Yellow Rose Productions, with permission of Beth Henley, to encourage and recognize the new works of female playwrights. The Henley Rose Playwright Competition for Women aims to give voice to the stories of this generation and to bring into the spotlight important works that have been crafted.

On Monday, May 1st, Yellow Rose Productions will present a Staged Reading of “Moonshine”, a new play by Liz Appel and 2nd Place Winner of the 2016 Henley Rose Playwright Competition for Women.

Synopsis: Wolf and Rooster are on the run, they find themselves in a clearing, desperate to light a fire and drive away the night. As memories of a violent event haunt them both, they each react in different ways. Two memories, two versions of their shared history are at war as they struggle in the wilderness of their new world and each other.
